Registering your Cloud Provider

Before you create your first volume, you must manually add your cloud provider account or subscription ID to your HPE CV account settings.

Registering an AWS Account

To register your AWS account with HPE CV, add your AWS Account ID to your account settings.

  1. Obtain your AWS Account ID.
    1. Log into your AWS account.
    2. Click User ID.
    3. Click My Account.
    4. Click Account Settings.
    5. Copy your AWS Account ID.
  2. Log into the HPE CV portal.
  3. From the HPE CV main menu, click Cloud Accounts
  4. From the Actions menu, click Add Cloud Account.
  5. Select Amazon AWS
  6. Type an account name in the Account Name field.
  7. Paste your AWS ID into the AWS Account ID field.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Select the users who you want to have access to the cloud account.
  10. Click Create.

Registering an Azure Account

To register your Azure account with HPE CV, add your Azure Subscription ID to your account settings.

  1. Obtain your Azure Subscription ID:
    1. Log into your Azure account.
    2. Navigate to the Subscriptions window.
    3. Copy your Azure Subscription ID.
  2. Log into the HPE CV portal.
  3. From the HPE CV main menu, click Cloud Accounts
  4. From the Actions menu, click Add Cloud Account.
  5. Select Microsoft Azure
  6. Type an account name in the Account Name field.
  7. Paste your Azure ID into the Azure Account ID field.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Select the users who you want to have access to the cloud account.
  10. Click Create.

Registering a Google Cloud Platform Account

To register a Google Cloud Platform Account, complete the following steps:

  1. Obtain your Google Cloud Platform Project ID.
  2. Log into the HPE CV portal.
  3. From the HPE CV main menu, click Cloud Accounts.
  4. From the Actions menu, click Add Cloud Account.
  5. Select Google Cloud Platform.
  6. Type an account name in the Account Name field.
  7. Type your Google Cloud Platform Project ID in the Project ID field.
  8. (Optional) Paste your GCP Service account data into the appropriate field.

    Note: See Creating a GCP Service Account (below) for instructions on how to create this account.

  9. Click Next.

  10. Select the users who you want to have access to the cloud account.
  11. Click Create.

Creating a GCP Service Account

To create a GCP Service account, log into you GCP account and complete the followings steps:

  1. From the Navigation Menu, select IAM & admin and Service accounts.
  2. At the top of the window, select CREATE SERVICE ACCOUNT.
  3. In the Service account name field, provide a name for the account and then click CREATE.
  4. Provide the account permissions:
    1. In Select a role add: (more roles will be added as automation functionality increases)
      1. Compute Engine -> Compute Network Admin
    2. Custom Roles will be updated at a later time.
  5. Click CONTINUE when the role assignment is complete.
  6. Create a Key for the Service Account:
    1. Click CREATE KEY and select the json format.
    2. Click CREATE.
    3. Save the generated json file for future use.
  7. The service account should now be created. Copy the contents of the email of the service account.
  8. From the Navigation Menu, select IAM & admin and then IAM.
  9. At the top of the window, click ADD, and then paste the contents of the service account email.
  10. Click Save to the save the change to AIM permissions.
